Choose the Right Construction for Your Project
Solar-control glazing manages incoming solar energy while contributing to façade appearance and daylight. Reflectance, transmission and thermal insulation are separate selection criteria. The right specification considers the building orientation and complete glazing assembly.
What to confirm before ordering
- Request performance information for the final assembly, not a different reference thickness.
- Review internal and external appearance in representative lighting.
- Assess thermal-stress risks and compatible heat treatment with the project team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does reflective glass provide privacy at night?
Not reliably. Visibility depends on the lighting on each side. Consider a separate privacy solution where night-time privacy is required.
Is solar-control glass used for photovoltaic modules?
That is a different product requirement. Architectural solar control limits unwanted gain; photovoltaic cover glass is selected for energy transmission and module compatibility.
Does a darker colour always mean better insulation?
No. Compare the declared thermal and solar values of the complete make-up rather than judging by colour.
